pdf Governors at Carlton Infant Academy

The full governing body meets three times a year and we have committees who usually meet three times each term There is a expectation with our code of conduct that each governor will become a member of a committee and will take on additional responsibilities as a link governor.  Governors also undertake regular training and visit school to gain first-hand knowledge of progress in the priorities for making Carlton Infant Academy an even better school.  Named governors have a responsibility to monitor specific areas such as health & safety, special needs, safeguarding and head teacher appraisal.

It is important that all governing bodies agree a Code of Conduct for School Governors. This ensures that all governors know their responsibility.  People who become school governors make a positive contribution by giving time and their experience to help shape the quality of learning in their school. The Governing body will ensure that their school is effectively and efficiently managed.
