History
Our History curriculum is designed to ignite curiosity, inspire a love of the past, and help children develop a coherent understanding of Britain’s history and that of the wider world. Through engaging and meaningful historical enquiry, we encourage our pupils to ask questions, think critically, and make connections across time periods and cultures.
We ensure that the knowledge we teach is carefully planned and tracked through our Key Knowledge Progression Documents (KKPDs). These documents are central to our curriculum design, allowing us to identify and sequence the knowledge required in each year group. This structured approach ensures that learning builds progressively, enabling children to deepen their understanding by revisiting and expanding on prior knowledge.
Our aim is to equip every child with a strong foundation in historical knowledge and skills, fostering a sense of identity and an appreciation for the complexity of people’s lives, the diversity of societies, and the challenges of their time.
