Geography
Our Geography curriculum is designed to broaden children’s horizons and deepen their understanding of the world around them. We aim to nurture a sense of wonder about the Earth’s diverse places, people, resources, and natural and human environments. Through carefully planned lessons, pupils develop key geographical skills such as map reading, fieldwork, and spatial awareness, while also exploring important global issues like climate and sustainability.
We track the knowledge that we teach in Geography through our Key Knowledge Progression Documents (KKPDs). These documents ensure that we plan for the knowledge required in each year group and allow us to sequence our curriculum effectively. This structured progression helps children build on what they have previously learned, reinforcing and extending their understanding as they move through the school.
Our goal is to equip every child with the knowledge and skills to become informed, responsible global citizens who appreciate the complexity and beauty of the world they live in.
