Art

We believe that Art is a powerful form of expression that nurtures creativity, imagination, and confidence. Our Art curriculum provides children with opportunities to explore a wide range of materials, techniques, and artistic styles, helping them to develop their own unique voice and appreciation for visual culture.

We carefully track the knowledge and skills taught in Art through our Key Knowledge Progression Documents (KKPDs). These documents guide our planning to ensure that each year group builds on prior learning in a structured and meaningful way. This progression allows children to revisit and refine techniques, deepen their understanding of artistic concepts, and make connections across different areas of the curriculum.

Through studying the work of diverse artists and engaging in hands-on creative experiences, our pupils learn to observe closely, think critically, and express themselves with confidence. Our aim is to inspire every child to see themselves as an artist and to take pride in their creative journey.
